Company Profile

Preventive*PLUS was established in 1987 by Jeffrey S. Liva, M.D., M.P.H., MS, to develop and implement preventive health programs for corporations, labor organizations, and individuals. Our Corporation has become a leader in the field of disease prevention and health promotion, which is recognized for its high standards and comprehensive approach to health care.

Dr. Liva is Board Certified in Preventive Medicine and Occupational Medicine. Dr. Liva graduated with a B.S. from the University of Michigan and received his M.D. from the University of Miami. He received his M.P.H., in Health Policy and Administration / Public Health from Columbia University and his M.S., in Industrial Health from the University of Michigan.

Maryellen Bliss, RN, the Director of Operations, is a graduate of Rockland State. She and Dr. Liva developed a Healthcare Benefit Plan for a local corporation. It resulted in a decrease in costs with an increase in employee health responsibility. They were able to keep the plan costs level for five years by encouraging the participants to follow up with the appropriate specialist to manage their health conditions. They both acted in the capacity of patient healthcare advocate. Maryellen has twenty five plus years as an Occupational Nurse in the Retail field as well as the Manufacturing field.
